Taveekarn

Identity design

Taveekarn, nestled in the charming corner of Samyan in Chula 48 district, is a quaint local clock repairing shop. The shop's name is derived from the owner's name, 'Tavee,' and the Thai word for 'time,' which is 'Karn.' The design of this project draws inspiration from the owner's possessions and unique personality, resulting in a distinct and captivating business identity. By creating and redesigning their brand identity, this project aims to support and promote the local business. Through thoughtful design choices, the essence of Taveekarn is encapsulated, capturing the essence of timekeeping and craftsmanship. The redesigned business identity seeks to enhance brand recognition, attract customers, and contribute to the growth and success of this beloved local establishment.

Logotype and Motion Signage

As my design logotype was inspired from clockwises, a motion signage also plays with the logotype with a concept of clock. When a minute hand and hour hand meets as ‘  ี ’  – in Thai vowels from a word “Tavee (ทวี)”, a cuckoo will appear after then.

Name card and Stationary

The design was inspired by the concept that uncle Tavee has made and repaired all types of clock including the smallest size to the biggest size. He is also called as a Horologist, clock maker and specialist. The back of the namecard illustrates types of clock with fluorescent orange reflected the mechanism inside.
